Marco Silva is reportedly set to oversee his final Premier League match as Fulham manager, with the Portuguese coach expected to replace Jose Mourinho at Benfica after five years and 229 games at Craven Cottage. Fulham’s hopes of qualifying for Europe faded during a poor end to the campaign, as the Cottagers have won just once in their last six league matches and taken only one point from their previous three games. Their attacking struggles continued in a 1-1 draw with Wolves, although Fulham’s strong home form remains a positive, with 10 of their 14 league wins this season coming at Craven Cottage.
Newcastle United arrive level with Fulham on wins, draws and defeats this season, but sit above them on goal difference despite also missing out on Europe. Eddie Howe’s side have improved recently, collecting seven points from their last three matches, including a 3-1 victory over West Ham, though they have now gone eight games without a clean sheet. The Magpies have struggled away from home this season with only four league wins on the road, but Howe’s men have already beaten Fulham twice this campaign and have won eight of the last 10 meetings between the two sides.
