There will be a battle to avoid finishing bottom of the Premier League table on the final day, as 19th-placed Burnley host 20th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers at Turf Moor on Sunday. Burnley sit two points above Wolves, meaning defeat could see the Clarets end the season at the foot of the standings after a difficult campaign that has brought just four league wins. Their home form has been particularly poor, although they impressed despite losing narrowly to Arsenal last time out.
Wolves, meanwhile, have also struggled throughout the season and possess both the league’s worst attacking record and worst away record, having failed to win on the road all campaign. Rob Edwards’s side did at least earn a 1-1 draw with Fulham in their last outing, while Burnley claimed a dramatic 3-2 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season. With both clubs already relegated, Sunday’s contest is largely about ending a miserable campaign on a positive note and avoiding the unwanted label of finishing 20th.
