Brighton & Hove Albion head into the final day with European qualification still on the line. Fabian Hurzeler’s side currently sit seventh, which would secure Europa League football, but they remain under pressure from both Chelsea and Brentford. Brighton could even sneak into the Champions League spots if results elsewhere go their way, despite recent inconsistency that has seen them lose two of their last three Premier League matches. The Seagulls will still take confidence from their excellent recent record against Manchester United, winning seven of the last 10 meetings in all competitions.
Man United, meanwhile, arrive with little pressure after securing third place and Champions League qualification. Michael Carrick was rewarded with a permanent contract after winning 11 of his first 16 Premier League matches in charge, and the Red Devils head south following a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest. While United possess one of the league’s strongest away records, Brighton’s greater urgency and home advantage could make this a tense and closely fought final-day contest.
